The founders of HDMI/DVI require adopters to manufacture their cables in an HDMI/DVI certified factory in order to fully meet HDMI/DVI certification specifications. Making cables at a certified facility adds the benefit of using industrial quality pre-inspected materials in the manufacturing process. Our cables also meet UL CL3 rating for in-wall installations directly from the production line, since the outer jacket of the cable complies with all UL requirements for the CL3 standard. Every Atlona cable is also ROhS certified, which means, that they contain no Lead or other materials that could potentially harm your pets and children. Large companies that have established themselves in the “high end” market may manufacture their cables under these standards, but unfortunately their prices are extremely high. 1) The marketing department thinks that their company is so well recognized, that consumers will buy their products regardless of the price.

The Atlona Dual Link DVI transmitter and receiver over three CAT5/6/7 cables is an extension tool for your long distance DVI display needs. Dual link DVI cables have a maximum distance of 15 feet before you lose resolution. Instead of using a long DVI cable, your existing CAT5/6/7 cables can replace DVI cables while performing the same functions like transferring 12 bit Deep color with a bandwidth of up to 6.75 Gbps and without signal loss. Moreover, the device has a built-in equalizer and Hot Plug Detect (HPD) function that allows users to enjoy a smooth and quick image display.

Note: With CAT5 cables you can run 100ft of cable and maintain high resolution video up to 2560x1600. However, CAT6 cables will get you 125ft and CAT7 will get you to 150ft between the computer or source and the display. This extender is ideal for those that want to achieve the highest resolution possible while running a display in a remote location. It’s a perfect match for the Apple 30” cinema display, BARCO 2K projectors or others like it, and customers that demand a high level of detail and distortion free images. Why our cables and not someone else's?

Since the company was created (more than 8 years ago), we have been committed to providing our customers with quality products. Our DVI cables are built to the particular DVI specifications, which in return make our cables meet or exceed DVI standards. There are not too many companies that manufacture their cables to meet the DVI standards. The only way that anybody can make DVI cables to their intended specifications is to manufacture those cables at a Certified DVI Factory. By making cables at the certified facility adds benefits of using Industrial quality materials in the manufacturing process. In the end, cables achieve UL CL2 rating for in-wall installations since the outer jacket of the cable, complies with that standard. All these cables are also ROhS certified, which means, that they contain no Lead or other environmentally harmful materials.

Large companies that have established themselves on the market, have been manufacturing their cables under these standards for a while, but unfortunately their prices are extremely high. This usually happens for either one or both of main reasons: 1) marketing department thinks that their company is so well recognized, that consumers will buy their products regardless of the price. 2) products of these companies go through so many dealers or "middlemen", that in order to pay them they have no other choice, but to raise prices. Unlike them, we own our factories and we don't keep "middlemen", which allows us to keep a much lower pricing than most stores or other retailers. As you have probably noticed, there a many internet retailers that claim certain specs or claim that they are better than other companies and at the same time they have extremely low prices. It might seem as a good deal at first, but please keep in mind that it is impossible to use Industrial Quality DVI material and at the same time offer such a low price. While those cables will work and at short lengths signal loss will be minimal, signal degradation is still going to be high, since improper materials are used. We on the other hand, try to provide our customers with the best quality products, which unfortunately, because of expensive materials, makes it impossible to keep the prices at a very low point. Therefore, if you value your investment in to DVI related equipment, it is highly recommended to use good quality interconnects.
